Rainbow Region Kids assistant coordinators and educators (Casino to Ocean Shores)

We are now recruiting for the following positions for our Rainbow Region Kids services:

  • Casual childcare assistant coordinators
  • Casual childcare educators

Rainbow Region Kids provides accredited before and after school care and vacation care. Developed with the My time our place framework, it provides government-subsided childcare programs for school-aged children.

  • Current police check undertaken by Community Gateway.

Assistant coordinator

This role will cover our outside school hours childcare services between Casino and Ocean shores. Remuneration is aligned with the Children Services Award 2010 Level 4. This casual role includes split shifts.

Key selection criteria

  1. Relevant qualifications in a related field with a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in childcare.
  2. Demonstrated supervisory skills.
  3. Sound knowledge and understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
  4. Sound knowledge and understanding of childhood development.
  5. Demonstrated experience of working within a childcare framework and programming for childcare and monitor quality improvement.
  6. Communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  7. First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake first aid training.
  8. Child Protection Certificate or a willingness to obtain.
  9. Knowledge in the use of Microsoft and database programs.
  10. Additional skills/ hobbies to benefit in the service delivery of programed activities.

Childcare educator

This role will cover outside school hours childcare from Casino to Ocean Shores. Remuneration is aligned with the Children Services Award 2010 Level 2. This casual role works on a weekly roster, including split shifts.

Key selection criteria

  1. Demonstrated ability to implement children’s programs under supervision.
  2. Demonstrated ability to assist in the implementation of daily routines.
  3. An awareness of, and assistance in the maintenance of the health and safety of the children in care.
  4. Show understanding and demonstrated ability to utilise behaviour management skills when dealing with individual or groups of children.
  5. A willingness to work according to the centre or service’s policies and procedures.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of hygienic handling of food and equipment.
  7. First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake first aid training.
  8. Child Protection Certificate or a willingness to obtain.
