Rainbow Region Kids assistant coordinators and educators (Casino to Ocean Shores )

We are now recruiting for the following positions for our Rainbow Region Kids services:

  • Casual child care assistant coordinators
  • Casual child care educators

Northern Rivers Community Gateway is a not-for-profit, QIP accredited community organisation. Our Rainbow Region Kids services provide accredited before and after school care and vacation care. Developed with the ‘my time our place’ framework, the services provide government-subsided child care programs for school aged children.

Casual child care assistant coordinator (various locations Far North Coast)

Remuneration is aligned with the Children Services Award 2010 Level 4. This role includes split shifts.

Key selection criteria

Knowledge, skills and experience required to perform the role:

  1. Minimum 3 years’ work experience within a childcare framework
  2. Demonstrated supervision skills
  3. Demonstrated experience communicating in a range of contexts.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of childhood development and programming for children
  5. An understanding of the education and care services national law and regulations
  6. Demonstrated experience in implementing quality improvement through and evaluating routines

Qualifications required to perform this role:

  1. Minimum Diploma in Children’s Services
  2. First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  3. Child Protection Certificate or a willingness to obtain

Desirable skills:

  1. Additional skills/hobbies to build educational experiences within an outside school aged care setting.

Casual child care educator (various locations Far North Coast)

Working to a weekly roster, including split shifts. Remuneration is aligned with the Children Services Award 2010 Level 2.

Key selection criteria

Knowledge, skills and experience required to perform the role:

  1. Knowledge and experience in implementing children’s programs under supervision.
  2. Experience in assisting with the implementation of daily routines in a child care setting.
  3. An awareness of the health and safety processes for outside school hours care.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of hygienic handling of food and equipment processes
  5. Basic knowledge in the use of Microsoft and database programs

Qualifications required to perform the role:

  1. Minimum AQF II- or 12-months experience in a children’s services.
  2. First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake first aid training
  3. Child Protection Certificate or a willingness to obtain

Desirable:

  1. Additional skills/hobbies to build educational experiences within an outside school aged care setting.
