NRCG engages community members and service providers on a daily basis by using established linkages through systematic referral processes.
NRCG operates the community hub for Lismore. Our assisted referral and intake process includes developing individual case plans to enhance client access to an integrated range of services and support.
Proven smooth referral pathways at NRCG via our outlets and with our community partners demonstrates the capacity to meet the increasing need of people presenting in financial crisis in the Northern Rivers and to assist them with holistic services to increase their financial capacity, to reduce risk and improve their circumstances.
NRCG utilises a comprehensive needs assessment that identifies referral pathways and takes an early intervention prevention approach for individuals or families at risk of homelessness or family breakdown. This strategy prevents further need for short-term relief. Through budget counselling, access to a matched savings program, no and low interest loans, family counselling, housing support and case management the negative impact of financial stress upon the individual or family is reduced and financial resilience increases.
People seeking emergency relief are often experiencing complex, multiple issues and the suite of NRCG programs encourage self-reliance and the opportunity for capacity development.
