 What is NILS

No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) is a community-based program which offers an interest free loan with zero charges to individuals and families on low incomes.  NILS loans enable our clients to purchase essential items. 

About the role

20 Hours per week (worked over 4 days)

The NILS Administrator will work as part of a team within our Financial Inclusion programs providing microfinance services.  This position will include team leader responsibilities and may be required to travel and work at other locations across the far north coast.  Inter-state and Intra-state travel may be required.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake statewide and inter-state travel as required. 

Remuneration: This position is remunerated a level 3 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010

NSW Financial Inclusion Coordinator - Position Description

Are you inspired to work towards making a positive social impact on financial inclusion in NSW?   

Northern Rivers Community Gateway is now recruiting the position of NSW Financial Inclusion Coordinator. 

We are a not-for-profit, incorporated community organisation formed in 1976 delivering a broad range of welfare and community capacity building programs.  We are person-centred and values-driven.  

The Role:

The aim of the Financial Inclusion Coordinaton  Position is to promote and support financial inclusion services throughout NSW by:

  • Developing and exploring financial inclusion strategies, resources and/or products that:

o can be delivered or accessed by funded NGOs; and

o Support NGOs to undertake effective financial conversations with a view to improving client financial behaviour 

  • Providing strategic advice to NSW Fair Trading on financial inclusion 
  • Link funded services (NILS and Financial Counsellors) to financial inclusion strategies and products

 

The successful applicant will be required to undertake statewide and inter-state travel as required.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Relevant qualifications and 5 years’ experience in microfinance, finance or community development.
  2. Demonstrated high level skills and experience in Community Development, research and planning.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including: facilitation, advocacy and negotiation skills, writing skills including high level reports, consultation and research papers for a range of audiences, oral skills (liaison, presentation)
  4. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently as required.
  5. High level of computer literacy.
  6. Preparedness to undertake extensive state-wide and interstate travel
